Modified Allen Test Assessment via Imaging Photoplethysmography

چکیده
Abstract The modified Allen test (MAT) is a widely used tool to examine the perfusion capacities of arteries (ulnar or radial) hand. In clinical practice, MAT utilized ensure that in event occlusion, remaining vessels guarantee sufficient hand perfusion. This work shows assessment via imaging photoplethysmography (iPPG) can be assess MAT. We captured hands seven subjects with standard RGB camera while performing Out these video recordings, iPPG signal was extracted plane-orthogonal-to-skin transformation. Based on signals, we derive heart rate, signal-to-noise ratio, DC parameter, and correlation reference determine if an pathological inconspicuous. For all subjects, results our were identical medical expert’s assessment. paper presents procedure initial thresholds for objectively evaluating quantifying MAT.We show how globally locally calculated parameters investigated analysis makes it possible quantify exact point time when again sufficient. If reperfusion problem occurs, are able localize spatial regions occurrence. presented hardware setup affordable easily installed every doctor’s office.

Assessment of Photoplethysmography Method in Extraction of Hemoglobin Concentration
Background: The importance of continuous monitoring along with rapid and accurate notification of changes in blood components such as hemoglobin concentration, especially in acute situations, encourages researchers to use non-invasive methods for measuring. Objective: This study was aimed to investigate the correlation between hemoglobin concentration and photoplethysmogram (PPG) and the p...
متن کاملMiniature wireless photoplethysmography devices: integration in garments and test measurements
Wireless PPG devices were developed and embedded in everyday clothes (bandage, scarf, cycling glove and wrist strap) to monitor cardiovascular state of free-moving persons. The corresponding software for measurements also has been developed and tested in laboratory. Real-time measurements of PPG signals were taken in parallel with a professional ECG reference device, and high correlation was de...
متن کاملA new look at the essence of the imaging photoplethysmography
Photoplethysmography (PPG) is a noninvasive optical method accepted in the clinical use for measurements of arterial oxygen saturation. It is widely believed that the light intensity after interaction with the biological tissue in vivo is modulated at the heartbeat frequency mainly due to pulsatile variations of the light absorption caused by arterial blood-volume pulsations. Here we report exp...
متن کاملImprovements in Indirect Blood Pressure Estimation via Electrocardiography and Photoplethysmography
Abstract—With the rapid adoption of wearable technology, a ubiquitous platform may exist for continuous cuff-less blood pressure monitoring. Devices that monitor photoplethysmography (PPG) and/or electrocardiography (ECG) signals may be capable of accurately estimating blood pressure. Previous work has demonstrated promising estimation techniques, but they remain infeasible for consumer adoptio...
متن کاملA problem-solving version of the Allen Cognitive Level Test.
The purpose of this study was to construct and validate a problem-solving version of the existing Allen Cognitive Level Test (ACL) (Allen, 1985). The new problem-solving version of the ACL (ACL-PS) follows the theoretical developments of the cognitive disability theory and the information processing approach. It was constructed to provide a more accurate assessment of the problem-solving proces...
